About Ghazale

Ghazale Middle Eastern and Vegetarian Foods first opened its doors in Toronto’s trendy Annex neighbourhood in March 1995. The popularity of Ghazale’s delicious, health-conscious Middle Eastern fare quickly spread beyond the Annex, eventually prompting the owners to expand to serve five more Toronto neighbourhoods.

Named after founder Ghazale Ahmad, Ghazale was the realization of Mrs. Ahmad’s dream to start a restaurant that would allow her to share her home-style Lebanese food with her fellow Torontonians. Mrs. Ahmad’s determination, along with the support of her family and great staff, has helped shape Ghazale into one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in Toronto. Anyone who has walked Bloor Street in the Annex is familiar with the mouth-watering aromas that draw passers-by into Ghazale.

Since its founding, Ghazale has consistently won consumers’ choice awards and has been repeatedly featured in local newspapers and on television. Mrs. Ahmad’s family proudly continues to own and operate all the Ghazale locations in the city, making the restaurant both a family institution and an enduring Toronto culinary landmark.
